Transcript context
…What does “deploy AI” mean? People are reluctant to send legal queries to Anthropic, to OpenAI. They’re not going to do that just yet, even if it might make sense. What should they actually do now? Concretely, it’s you work back from, what does it take to get it on every single computer of every single person? Then you discover some of the concerns. Some of the concerns might be like, where does the data go, or other things. Then you work out if that’s a problem you care about or not. If you don’t care about it, you ignore the problem and consciously do. If you do care about it, you turn that into a very small number of prescriptions that the companies need to follow, but you need to attach that, probably, to a market signal. Or, you do a project of trying to take some of the open weights models, some of which are very good, and just get them on computers. Then once they’re on computers, you can work out, “Hey, maybe we want to buy this. What are the requirements? ” I think you start from the most ambitious possible goal, which is it being available to every single person, and you work back from that. Is the UK going to become an important AI hub?…
