Andrew Sullivan: recommendation

11 Aug 2021 Conversations with Tyler Andrew Sullivan on Braving New Intellectual Journeys

“I watch it every year because it’s just so funny and stupid — and, as a tonic, if you’re weighed down by the world, especially if you’re weighed down by wokeness or the incredibly censorious attitude that we have, it’s just so great to sit down and watch that every now and again and see what they got away with.”

He gets in and just films their life: their chanting, their work, the way they garden, the way they pray. This lasts for three hours and there are no words in it until the last 20 minutes, and you are riveted throughout. As an expression of spirituality, it’s an extraordinary film. Who’s the most interesting and underrated feminist thinker?…
