…Well, what I suspect is that it’s the cost of rents and the cost of the fact that it’s not 12 months a year. But I have often been surprised by the fact that there are various places in the country, high concentrations of wealth, where there aren’t great restaurants. Silicon Valley is a very good example. San Francisco’s got great restaurants, but Silicon Valley itself, where there’s a gazillion dollars sitting there, not great restaurants. The Indian food in Mountain View is pretty good, I would say. But mostly I agree. [laughs] It’s always surprised me. Washington, DC, is another place where the great ethnic restaurants are not in DC, and you have to ask yourself, why aren’t they in DC? DC’s filled with young people who love ethnic restaurants, and it’s got to be something like the rents. I’m not an expert on the business side of food, but it is peculiar that you go to many interesting places that have a lot of people with money, and yet you get a lot of places that have bland or not very adventurous food.…
