Totally. Forrest gives his Chicago plant managers a deadline of six months to start making their own chocolate in the factory. I suspect they turn profitable on this decision a lot faster than 10 years out, but there are obviously other reasons that Forrest is doing this too. One is the quality principle, which I really do think the quality principle is number one in Mars for a reason. If you really are serious about wanting to produce the highest quality products at a given price, you need to control all the means of production yourself. Anyone who’s serious about software should make their own hardware.…
