For my birthday this year, one of my friends, Rodrigo, got me this special edition that has the cantos printed on index cards, so you can go through the index cards as you’re reading the narrative proper or the notes on the poem. Once I have a bit of spare time, I’m going to sit down and read Pale Fire the way that perhaps Nabokov intended, with the index cards in hand.
