…At the meta level, what did you learn from your dad? Obviously, very particular things, but viewed largely. It’s an enormous question. He only died seven months ago, so it’s a hard question. It’s obviously the question I’m thinking about the answer to a lot. I would say there are the basic things like loyalty, which I mean, but I would suggest I’ve thought a lot about . . . My dad was somebody who never felt intimidated to have any conversation with anybody. This idea that no one is better than anyone else was important to him, even if it might not have seemed like that. That is, he had a really egalitarian idea about people’s capacity and that you had to keep your eyes open because greatness could show up at any given moment. That is something I’ve carried with me. I think he probably wouldn’t have expressed his curiosity in the way I express my curiosity, but he had a similar kind of curiosity and appreciation for greatness.
