I’m going to introduce Zeynep, but actually, I’m not completely sure of the fully correct pronunciation of her last name. Zeynep, would you please say your name for us correctly? You could have gotten away with whatever you wanted it to be, but it is ZAY-nep too-FEK-chee. Thank you very much. Zeynep is starting as a professor at Columbia University in a new job. She is the author of the renowned Twitter and Tear Gas: The Power and Fragility of Networked Protest, a highly influential book. Over the course of the last two years, she has become one of the central American public intellectuals on the issue of COVID-19, having been right about virtually everything ahead of all the curves, correcting the public health authorities when they were wrong, confirming them when they were right.
